Baby Powder Bombs and War Paint

Bet that title intrigues anyone reading this blog. Let me begin, so I am making dinner, holding the baby and trying to keep Will out of trouble all at the same time, ( I know the making dinner part is hard to believe) every mom can remember doing this, and all of the sudden William disappears. (Yes, I called him William) when I came out into the living room and discovered this.........

This is a picture of my black leather chair after my darling 2 year old son found a new bottle of baby powder and decided to blow it up inside my living room. He dumped the entire bottle in the living room. All I could do was laugh, since he was having so much fun playing with the powder. Hopefully some day when he has childen he can look at this and know where I am coming from.

The next great adventure in the life of the Simmons household happened this weekend while it was raining. My efforts of trying to be a cool mom backfired when I thought I would introduce fingerpainting to Will. Everything was going great until he threw the cup of paint on the floor. (Not the worst part, that is coming) I grabbed this trying to avoid a bigger mess when Will stands up on the chair wipes the paint on his face, takes his hands and slaps them on his face, one on each side, Im thinking, nothing a bath cant fix, when Will jumps down off the chair and runs over to Wyatt who is in the jumperoo and slaps the sides of his face too and smears paint all over his face. And then he proceeds to run into the bedroom before I caught him and threw him in the tub. After this I assess the situation and see how badly Wyatt has been "marked". This is what I find.... ( being a photographer I cant help but take pictures of all this great, funny stuff happening in this house)

All I can say is that it is never boring around this house,Will makes sure of that. It sure makes good stories!!!! For those of you with younger children, this is what you get to look forward too!!!! For those of you who have already had children this age, stop laughing. I have to say that with most of William's "adventures" I have laughed about it in the moment knowing that other mom's have gone thorugh this and are going to laugh when they hear about how he drives me crazy. But he will grow up and I will miss these little things that he does and I need some good blackmail for his graduation or something.

Wyatt is doing great he is getting bigger and bigger everyday, he is also plotting his sweet revenge against his older brother for when he becomes bigger than him. We tend to have pluggie wars, with Will usually winning until Mom or Dad steps in. He is such a happy smiley baby, he has started eating baby food now and loves it. He especially like green beans and pears, and he sure is a little piggie. He is rolling over and playing with his feet all the time, I think that he has inherited Auntie Laura's infamous "monkey toes". He loves to watch his big brother until Will does something to him. I just can't believe that he is almost 6 months old already, it is amazing how time flies.

This is my son eating his snack like the dog, he didnt want dog food this time.

Here are some more pictures from the past few weeks...Enjoy

Such big boys

We have some pretty big boys around this house lately, snce last weekend Will has learned some new words, and put his shoes on all by himself, Wyatt has learned how to rollover from back to front and decided that sweet potatoes and green beans are really good to eat.

Im going to try and post a video of Wyatt laughing on here, it was taken with my cell phone so Im sure that the quality will be sorta yucky but you might get the just of it. I am also posting some new pictures of our week here, Will has decided that he has to help when feeding Wyatt and give him 5 bites then Will has to have one too. It is cute to see Will so interested however, not so much to see him eating baby food.

This will be a short post I will try to post more again soon.

Once a week...Yeah right

I know that I mentioned something about trying to post on here once a week, yeah right, I think that I'll be lucky to get on here once a month!! Today is May 2nd and this is what we woke up to this morning...

I believe that we recieved about 8 inches of snow and the wind was blowing causing some pretty big drifts. This was the first time that Will has been able to go out and actually play in the snow, we havent had this much snow since he was born, (that I can remember) so we dressed him up to go out and play...

He loved it outside and cried when he had to come inside. He loves it outside and always wants to be out. So much that he usually crawls out of the dog door and runs around the back yard a couple of times a day. Im sure that the neighbors think we are great parents.

He is talking alot more and was really cute this morning when I opened the door to show him what it looked like outside he quit smiling and said plain as day "Dang it's cold", it was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. He has really gotten into watching Ratatouille lately and maybe he will learn how to cook next. He is getting so big and he is usually a lot of fun, however he does pay us back every now and thenby not listening very well, but I guess that is to be expected from a 2 year old.

Wyatt is doing very well, I weighed him about a week or so ago and he was at 12lbs. 12 oz so he is growing like a weed. He has certainly discovered his voice and let's us know when he is not happy. He is also working on rolling over, he gets so close but cant quite get rolled over because of his arm. It is pretty cute to watch!!!!

Here are some recent pics of the kids:

Will post some more soon

This will be a long one

Who could resist this?

The gang

We have had a very eventful March so far, Will the most of course with his trip to Colorado with Grandma Ann, Auntie Laura and Uncle Adam. From what I heard he was a very good boy and that he had a great time while he was there. Here are some pictures from his trip

Since then we have had some vistors from Pennsylvania, Rich,Candi,Shenea and Chesney. They came out for Wyatt's baptism this last weekend. We had alot of fun while they were here playing the Wii, cards and just hanging out. I think that they would have taken Wyatt back with them if I would have let them.

Wyatt's baptism went very well. He wore the gown that Andrew was baptized in and didn't flinch a bit. He even worked the crowd when the pastor put the sign of the cross on his forehead. He smiled from ear to ear and everyone thought that he was the cutest thing ever. I think that he was!!!! Here are a few pictures from that:

We had a lunch afterwards to celebrate and most of our family was there. It is funny that on average if Drew and I plan to have a "gathering" (birthday, baptism etc) that just our familes combined average about 35-45 people. That is not including anyone not related to us. It is nice to have a big family like that to celebrate with. There are not very many people who can say that. Here are some other pictures from the weekend:

After the baptism was over, unfortunatly Will became sick and ran a fever for 4 days between 102.0 and 104.5. He ended up having an ear infection. It wasn't very fun, he had to see the doctor a couple of times and ended up getting a rocephen shot (antibiotic) to make him feel better. He is now getting better and we are hoping he will be ok to go to Sioux Falls this weekend for Easter to see great grandma Harriett. He definatly didnt have a good last few days.

We had the kids pictures taken recently and I thought that I would post them on here so that everyone can see them. There are quite a few so like I said this one will be a long one. I will try to post more later, hope all is well with everyone.

It's been awhile

Who wouldn't want to wake up to this!!!!!!

So I know that I haven't been good with keeping up with the blog but I'm trying!!! Things here have been busy as normal. Drew and I got a little vacation from Will last weekend because he went to Denver with Grandma Ann, Laura and Adam to watch Leah's roller derby match. From the sounds of it he was very good and because of the weather he even got to stay an extra day. Drew and I had Wyatt but it was still a vacation for us. We think that Wyatt enjoyed the weekend the most since his brother wasn't around to pick on him.

Things are going well here, both the boys are getting big as you can see with all the pictures that I am posting. Wyatt especially. He has really gotten big lately and is still growing. He is smiling all the time now, but he still hasnt managed to laugh. He really is a wiggle worm though, trying to wiggle out of everything. He is a really good boy, sleeping through the night regularly now and eating like a horse. I just hope he doesnt grow up too fast.

Will on the other hand is still a very busy boy. He is doing good though, He is starting talk more and use words that we can understand. He has started to say "hat", "cake", "mama", and a few other words. He has gotten a lot better about picking up his toys and cleaning up after himself, Im waiting to see how much longer that lasts!!!

I don't really have any newer pictures of Will, I have some stuff that I will need to post in a few days so I will have to post some then.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day from our house. We kept it pretty quiet this year staying home and spending the evening together. Drew bought steak and we rented Ratatouille for Will to watch. Wyatt got a bath and sported his little monkey bathrobe he got from Auntie Candi, Shenea and Chesney. He was a pretty goodlooking kid!!! Will received many valentine's from the kids at daycare, and made out pretty good with the ladies. Both boys got balloons and a treat from Auntie Mary Ann and appropriatly she gave Will a little devil balloon. I think she really knows the real Will.

I can prove it too because this was the way he woke up the other day:

This week Will's vocabulary has gotten a little bigger too. He has told us many things such as "No way", "salad", and his favorite show Word World, which he calls "woo woo". He is pretty funny when he tries to carry on a conversation with you or when he wants something and you can't understand him. He is really getting big and getting very independant. Hopefully he doesnt grow up too fast.

Wyatt is smiling allot these days and we are waiting anyday now to hear him laugh. He is such a good baby and is sleeping through the night about 3-4 times a week. He is starting to fill out in his face and looks like he has chubby cheeks every now and then. He is getting so big, I cant believe that he is 2 mths old already. Here are some picture of him from this week:

This week Drew and I also made another addition to our house................... a 52" big screen TV to watch all those Broncos games on in the fall. when we hooked it up the first movie we put in was Cars and I thought that Will was gonna pee his pants. He was so excited that all he could do was point and and giggle at the TV. we videoed it because he was so funny.

Of course the big screen was not enough, we also purchased a Nontendo Wii and had a Wii party that night with my family. It was pretty comical watching Madyson and my Dad race each other on the cow game. After everyone left that night Will got his chance to box and actually knocked the guy down. I think it was the cutest thing I ever saw.

That is all that is going on with us, Im sure there will be more adventures next week.

Whew it's cold

It has been a little chilly here lately, since the wind blows all the time and since we were on our way out, Wyatt decided to wear Will's old hat to keep his little ears warm. As you can see he happens to look a little like an elf or a knome but we still love him!!!!!

it has also seemed to me that Wyatt has really grown alot this last week, he seems to have gotten heavier and just seems to act bigger already. He has been acting like he has a lot to say recently but cant figure out how to get it out so he just makes little cooing noises that are really cute.

Here is Wyatt rocking with Grandma Ann getting spoiled by the minute.

Then there is Will. He has been really good when it comes to taking care of his little brother. The other day as I was leaving to take him to daycare, I planned on putting Will in the car first and coming back to get the baby. Will would not leave the house until I had the baby in my hands walking out the door with us. Im sure that he will be looking out for Wyatt for a long time. He has again expanded his vocabulary this week.
Last weekend we were at Sams Club and by the childrens books. Will was beside himself with all the books there and wanted to by them all. As I was trying to put the books he had put in the cart back on the table I told him I knew that he was excited. He turned looked at me and said "I so excited!". I had to make Drew listen to him to make sure I wasnt imagining him saying that. Since then we he starts to get happy about something we find that he is "so excited".

I go back to work tomarrow and that will be the first day that the baby will go to daycare with Will. I don't know who will have a harder time, me or Will, with Wyatt being at daycare. Me, because I have to go back to work and cant lay around the house eating bon bons like Drew thinks, or Will because he has to share Ginger with his brother and it is no longer his own territory. Anyway, I know that we will all survive Im just not looking forward to it. Hope everyone is doing well and will post again soon.
